About one year ago, I started working with Reporting Services for SQL Server 2000. I did lots of mistakes and silly things with my first set of reports, but I also figured lots of things out. Some time this summer I felt pretty confident about my RS skills. And then RS 2005 showed up... And I feel I'm back to square one...
THe new edition is great, it's super user friendly in basic things. Creating reports based on SQL Server databases is wonderfully simple. Creating reports based on MDX with parameters is quite different. Creating simple reports from an OLAP cube is way simpler in this version, but after several hours of tinkering, I STILL haven't figured out how to create a report with my own MDX query AND some parameters in it... It's frustrating.
