During the last two years, I've gotten used to excluding certain words when searching the internet. When I'm looking for something related to MDX (Multi dimensional expressions, used to query OLAP cubes), I usually add –acura to any search strings.
Why? Acura is a car company, and one of their most popular cars is called MDX. It pops up in both the usual web searches and in news groups. You can check it out at http://www.acura.com/index.aspx?initPath=MDX
Now I have to add a new word to my exclusion repertoire: -kate. The last few months I've been working quite a lot with Microsoft Office SharePoint Services 2007, or MOSS 2007 for short. OK, I think Kate Moss is a very stylish woman, but getting hits to pictures showing her and her no-good boyfriend Pete at a beach in Thailand doesn't help me at all when I'm trying to find info about SharePoint.
